Assists families in accessing services for persons with autism, including how to work through the state's advocacy system for people with disabilities or how to work with a school district for special educational programs. Educates families about autism and refers to community resources.

Offers referral, support and information and conferences to children and adults with autism, Asperger's or Pervasive Developmental Disorder and their families across the state. Autism is a developmental disability characterized by difficulty with social interaction, impairment in communicative skills, behavior difficulties and abnormal responses to environmental stimuli. Autism ranges from mild to severe.
