Eligibility

Veterans, service members (including members of the reserves or National Guard), or their family members (spouses, surviving spouses, or dependent children under the age of 21). Must live in WA and have a non-criminal legal issue in WA. Income (all money received in a month) must be under 5 times the federal poverty level.

Helps veterans, service members, and their families who have civil (non-criminal) legal problems. May connect clients with a lawyer for up to 60 minutes of free legal advice, even though the lawyer cannot attend court with the client. May also connect clients with community groups or provide information about legal rights. Cannot help those who: 1. Need help with a criminal legal problem. 2. Do not live in Washington state 3. Have legal problem in a different state 4. Need someone to go to court for them or represent them 5. Need urgent help. Cannot find you a lawyer if the hearing or deadline is in the next 3 weeks.
