Offers mediation as a more peaceful alternative to litigation where impartial mediators help people resolve a conflict. Gives both parties a chance to develop realistic, workable solutions. Clients who choose to use mediation still have the option of using the court system should the outcome of mediation not meet their needs.
Does not provide legal advice, counseling services or tell people how to resolve their conflict in mediation services. Typical cases involve:

- Creating or modifying parent plans
- Family/interpersonal disputes

Dispute Resolution Center of Kitsap County
Provides people with options for settling disputes themselves--out of court--voluntarily. Professionally trained volunteer mediators meet with clients to assist them in reaching mutually agreeable solutions. The available programs: parent-youth mediation, victim-offender mediation, neighbor-neighbor community mediation, small claims court items, landlord/tenant mediation, family/interpersonal, parenting plans, divorce and post-divorce matters, as well as foreclosure mediations. Multi-party restorative mediations and facilitations are offered in circle format for a wide variety of issues affecting groups of individuals. The Center also offers a wide variety of trainings that help the community to better navigate their way through the inevitable conflicts in life.
