Anyone may call the 24-hour support line for assistance and information. Provides around-the-clock hospital responses to local emergency rooms and offer in-person advocacy for anyone seeking a medical exam or evidence collection. The team can support caller in making informed decisions regarding medical care related to trauma. Under Washington law, survivors of sexual assault have the right to have an advocate or support person present during medical and legal proceedings.

Provides domestic violence advocacy services, such as: -  Case management -  Counseling -  Support groups -  Legal advocacy   Staff will accompany refugee women and their children of any ethnicity to shelters and will attempt to meet their needs by providing crisis intervention, support, translation, etc.  Also offers education and training to the community and service providers about domestic violence and refugee/immigration issues.   Child care is available on a limited basis.

Provides crisis intervention line, safe temporary housing for female domestic violence survivors and their children, as well as information and referral and group counseling for survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families and friends. Sexual assault services include support, information and referral, and advocacy for people of all ages during medical exams and through the criminal justice system. Also provides legal advocacy services, including assistance with filing protection and anti-harassment orders, accompaniment to court proceedings, and legal referrals. There is a children's advocate who provides education about the cycle of domestic violence and provides childcare (with needs observation) during client appointments.

Assists children with dependency issues that are either living with a relative or guardian when they have been removed from a home with domestic violence, abuse, neglect, and other issues. Serving as advocates for children facing abuse and neglect in family court, present reports and recommendations regarding the child's well-being to the court.

Legal advocacy is provided by information mailed to victims and personal advocacy provided by the staff.   Two categories of crimes have been targeted for more direct service to and contact with victims by VAU staff. -  1) Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Cases: Victims of domestic violence within unincorporated King County.   -  2) Homicide/Criminal Loss of Life Cases: Outreach to families and friends who desire information regarding a case; proactive position taken by the Unit on any homicide, vehicular homicide, and vehicular assault cases. Services may include legal support through court accompaniment and information, and a realistic presentation of options.   

Helps advocate for victims of sexual assault and abuse and their families by providing information and support, as well as accompanying them to medical or legal appointments. Provides referrals. Offers Support Groups, Caregiver Education, Trafficking Awareness training, Darkness to Light, and CPR (suicide response training). Crisis Line Available 24/7.

Provides support and services to victims of crimes including assault, robbery, DUI crashes, robbery, and co-victims of homicide. Services include 24-hour crisis line, crisis intervention and counseling, crime victim compensation application assistance, and technical assistance following identity theft.

Provides 24-hour medical advocacy, legal advocacy and support.   Medical advocacy includes meeting victims at the hospital, assisting with CVC benefits and other associated needs.

Provides assistance to general crime victims other than domestic violence or sexual assault. Avocates assist with multiple systems of support by helping victims deal with physical, emotional, financial, and legal consequences of their victimization.  Advocates can offer:   - Crisis intervention and help coping with the trauma of violent victimization  - Assistance filing Crime Victim Compensation claims and insurance forms  - Direction to help access medical and/or mental health services  - Advocacy within the criminal justice system  - Striving to ensure victims’ voices are heard and that their opinions are considered  - Assistance completing Victim Impact Statements  - Crisis intervention including 24-hour access to an advocate at 1-866-711-2826  - Guidance through the criminal justice process  - Accompaniment to court proceedings  - Referral to other support services available throughout the community  - Personal Systems Advocacy: support of victims with public service providers, creditors, employers, insurance companies, utilities providers, etc  - Information on applying for restitution  - Assistance in the Return of Personal Property that may have been taken by law enforcement as part of an investigation.

YWCA Kitsap County offers Legal Advocacy Services to victims of domestic violence. These services include: Legal Advocacy, Case Management, Safety Planning, Victims’ Rights Information, Civil and Criminal Justice System Navigation, Court Accompaniment, Protection Orders Information, Referrals for Legal Representation, Resources, Bilingual/Bicultural Advocacy Services Available, Monthly Legal Clinic, YWCA Kitsap County collaborates with Kitsap Legal Services to offer a monthly legal clinic for victims to speak with an attorney for free when they are available. Rescind Protection Orders In order to rescind a Protection Order in Kitsap County, an appointment must be made with a YWCA Legal Advocate to access information and safety planning.

Provides various resources for victims of domestic violence, including a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, emergency food and clothing, legal advocacy, support groups, comprehensive referrals to affordable housing options, and other supportive services, as needed. - Advocacy-based counseling: a cooperative effort shared between a client and an advocate with the primary focus on empowerment through reinforcing the client's autonomy and self-determination by using non-victim-blaming problem-solving methods that include: identifying barriers to safety, developing safety checking and planning skills, clarifying issues; providing options; solving problems, increasing self-esteem and self-awareness, and improving and implementing skills in decision making, parenting, self-help, and self-care. - Legal Advocacy: support and advocacy for clients as they navigate the legal system as related to the issue of domestic violence, such as filing for a protection order. Referrals are made to other service providers when any legal issue is beyond the scope of services provided by DVS. - Girls Circle/Boy's Council: a support group to encourage the development of strength, courage, confidence, honesty, and communication skills for youth, 8-18 years of age. Groups are held weekly to connect with each other and engage in activities that allow them to express themselves through curriculum-based activities like role play, drama, journaling, poetry, dance, drawing, and collage. - Resources and Referrals: Provides centralized resource and referral service to a wide variety of community and governmental programs. Provides training and technical assistance to other service providers and the public. Teen Dating Violence Education & Prevention: Works closely with local schools, educational professional, counselors and other providers who work with families and teens, to provide prevention education and intervention for teens. Teens can call the crisis line (509-582-9841 option 1) or meet with an advocate to talk about what is going on in their relationship, and to find out about available services and options. Parents, or other supportive adults, can call the crisis line or meet with an advocate to talk about how to help their teen who may be dealing with an abusive relationship. - Women's English & Spanish Support Groups: Provides support groups that are a safe place where victims and survivors can learn more about abuse, talk about their abuse, get support, and obtain helpful resources, which will provide tools to move forward towards a healthy and happy life. Call 509.582.9841 option 1 for schedule. - Housing Assistance: comprehensive referrals to affordable housing options for those who are at risk of losing their housing, relocating, or having trouble securing housing, due to their experience as a victim of domestic violence. May also assist with rental assistance to prevent an eviction or deposit assistance to get into a safe place.

Offers a domestic violence crisis intervention hotline, confidential temporary housing, and advocacy services. Includes medical and legal support such as helping clients file protection and anti-harassment orders, accompanying them to medical appointments, legal consultations, and providing assistance with any interactions involving the criminal justice system. Additionally, provides educational outreach to the community.

Offers a variety of services, including a 24-hour crisis hotline for education, support, and safety planning; support group sessions; and walk-in or phone advocacy. Legal advocacy services provide information and assistance in completing protection orders and may provide court accompaniment to the Protection Order Court at the Clark County Courthouse.
